Being a handyman is about more than knowing how to use tools.
We're invited into people's homes to solve problems, repair things that aren't working, and take care of projects homeowners may have been putting off for months. That means the way we communicate, the way we work, and the way we leave a customer's home matters just as much as the repair itself.
Handyman Knoxville is growing, and we're looking for skilled people who take pride in doing things the right way.
Whether you've spent years working in residential construction and maintenance or you've developed your skills working for yourself, we'd like to hear from you.
Take pride in your work
The little things matter. Straight cuts. Clean caulk lines. Smooth drywall repairs. Properly installed hardware. A finished project should look like someone cared about it.
We want people who notice those things without having to be told.
Be someone we can count on
Show up when you're supposed to. Be prepared for the project. Communicate when something unexpected comes up.
Our customers are scheduling their day around us, and the rest of our team is depending on you to do what you said you would do.
Be comfortable in someone's home
Most of our work happens inside occupied homes.
That means protecting the customer's property, communicating professionally, keeping the work area clean, and treating their home with the same respect you would expect someone to show yours.
Know how to figure things out
Handyman work changes from project to project.
One day might involve drywall and trim. Another might involve installing a fixture, repairing a door, assembling something, or working through a homeowner's punch list.
You don't have to know everything. But you do need experience, good judgment, and the ability to look at a problem and determine the right way to solve it.
Keep getting better
Experience matters, but attitude matters too.
We're looking for people who take their craft seriously, are willing to learn, and understand their own strengths and limitations. You don't have to know how to do everything, but you should have the experience and judgment to know what you can handle - and when it's time to ask questions or get additional guidance.
At Handyman Knoxville, figuring out the right way to do something is important. So is knowing when not to guess.
Handyman Knoxville provides residential repair, maintenance, assembly, installation, and improvement services throughout Knoxville and the surrounding communities.
Typical projects include:
The work changes constantly. That's part of what makes being a handyman interesting.
We handle the scheduling and coordinate projects through our office so you aren't spending your evenings chasing leads or trying to figure out where tomorrow's work is coming from.
Our goal is to send you into a project knowing what needs to be accomplished and having the information necessary to get the job done.
Current opportunities begin part-time, approximately 25 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours as Handyman Knoxville continues to grow.
Compensation is based on experience, with opportunities for performance bonuses.
You don't need the perfect resume.
Tell us a little about yourself, the type of work you've done, and what you're looking for. If you have a resume or photographs of projects you're proud of, we'd be happy to see those too.
If your experience and approach seem like a good fit for Handyman Knoxville, we'll reach out and start a conversation.
That promise isn't just a tagline. It's the standard we want every customer to experience.
We're building a company where good tradespeople can do quality work, be treated professionally, and take pride in their work with Handyman Knoxville.
If that sounds like the kind of team you'd like to be part of, we'd like to hear from you.
